Salty Lemonade All our misspent youth, sad june parade, rot my teeth on salty lemonade. “Silent Eddie” crashed and got caught in the wave, now you sell real estate I long for sunny days. Ignoramus of technology, I offer no apology. Don’t have a good brain for business and must confess I’m not too hot on fitness. A shy teenager in a hole until the Zeppelin saved my soul. Wore their badge on my jean jacket and posed in the mirror all night with my tennis racket. Now I cringe looking back on the moments we were so easily led astray. (chorus) We sucked but we played anyway until I got my first delay. We sounded pro from on thereafter and with my college grant i bought a Japanese Telecaster. One fine day I will tell you the story of the guitar I let slip away. (chorus) If you see me please come say hello there in a galaxy far away. (chorus)

Fever Dream Fridays Rode through the desert on a camel’s back, one day the rains came down and we were under attack. I woke up, the sheets were soaking and the side of your bed was empty. Flew around the planets on a yellow plane, we spent two nights on the moon laid sipping champagne. I woke up, the place was empty and this time it wasn’t a dream. I saw the devil in the sink, he turned around and gave me a wink. A crumpled note said “I must go my way, cause it’s depressing me to stay.” I sailed the ocean on an ancient raft, I fought the Great White Shark with barely a scratch. I woke up, made a promise and pushed it out into the sea. I saw the devil in the sink, he turned around and gave me a wink. A crumpled note said “I must go my way, cause it’s depressing me to stay.” Now she paints and her work lights up fancy shows, she turns around her cheeks start to glow “Could this really be life or am I only dreaming?” I’ll do my best to follow this newfound life-saving regime or hand me a pill to swallow and put us out of our misery. I saw the devil in the sink, he turned around and gave me a wink.

Consolation Prize It could be said that you and me have history, now I don’t smell danger now we’re strangers, at least not all the time. It hurt me when you said you hadn’t missed me, from sleepwalking to not talking we made a deal with time. It’s nothing more than a memory, now they say life starts at 30 and I’m not sure it’s worthy of another chance so let’s engage in one last dance. Lame excuses you’re sending , now it’s clear affection’s ending. I appreciate you lending a material hand and the bouquet of flowers leave a taste that’s sour. Going out to shows as a distraction, when I knock a few back an anxiety attack, guess I lost my way sometime yesterday. It’s a passing trend but we’re not getting younger so we lubricate our worst mistakes and hope for the best to come. (chorus) It’s a wrap!

Born to Ruin 01:29
Born to Ruin It seems we’re out of time but it’s murder to reset my mind. It pains me to know this is the end, not sure I’ll see you as a friend. Remember the time that you said out thing was pure and fantastic, now measures are drastic, self-preservation. I don’t know what we’re doing ‘cause fools like us were born to ruin. Last Easter tour out with the band you closed the car door on my hand. We shovelled the snow and all week I was perpetually plastered, a walking disaster but we still made it. It’s so obvious “ABC”, there’s nothing like surrogate family. I’ll take on oblivion with you next to me and we won’t be accused of not trying. Now I’m not black and blue, we’ve decimated all taboos yet still it seems I’m born to lose and you still play a role in this ongoing show. We’ll rebuild all the libraries, burn the diaries cause we’ve no fear anymore.
5.
Lindsay Weird He’s sat there waiting on his judgement day with a suitcase of regrets and a whole lot more to say. Though in denial she’s made up her mind, still the pain’s too much to bear, he insists on playing blind. He turned around and she’s departed it evaporated just like it had started. No sweeping exits, all ravaged hearts. He says “what I know now, if we could start afresh” she says “you don’t see the truth and you know I’m still into girls.” “There are no second acts in modern lives” said the astronaut as he waved goodbye to his stoner wife. Down here on Earth we are a different breed, take the thieving ministers who are rewarded for their greed. I turned on the TV first time in ages, the whole place was crawling with prophets and sages. In a movie theatre the main guy turns and says… (chorus) Don’t you fear Lindsay Weird I would never hurt you dear, for what is done shall be done but life used to be so uncomplicated. Now I’ve ended up a mess somehow, your high school dress, your sweet caress, I will look you up when I’m (home). Back in the 90s they were simple times, we would hide out on the beach. We were fearless we were wild. Let’s rob a bank and go buy a delorean, let’s leave all the rotten shit to the historians. A room for the night please, I’ll be alright. (chorus)
6.
The Human Lightning Rod From the deep green ocean, to the blue ridge mountains. Seven bolts of lightning and I survived all of ‘em. I’m the human lightning rod, innocent ‘till proven guilty. When all the world is fast asleep I’ll be out patrolling the forest. Strike me down and I’ll get back up and screw all of the non-believers. The only thing that got me in the end was her cool indifference. I’d walk alone cause folks were petrified beside me, then in ‘83 I’d had enough decided. (chorus) Sullivan snapped in his old age. Shenandoah, he feared the dark but ruled the park. By the fifth strike he said “give me a break...” but bad choices, distant voices. I’m the human lightning rod...

Seven Magic Words Don’t tremble now cause you know I’m gonna split, I swear that I’ll be back before it’s dark no fear. It definitely blows but you know one has a job. I promise that I’ll take you away July this year. I’ll return, a brand new toy. Your tail becomes a whip of joy and I’ll say the seven magic words that it seems were made for you. You’re greedy but your life devoid of ego, wherever we go you lead the way, demand to play at all times inquisitive. I’ll return my word is true, this selfless love that floors me through. As soon as I’m out the door you sleep on my pyjamas, though you don’t know it we call you the king of drama. These are the seven magic words that it seems were made for you.
8.
The Pressing Catch The day came and left without warning, we all have our own way of mourning. You showed me some things that I’ll never forget yeah you set the bar high for others to follow. Primitive psychology it’s not marine biology, we had a good thing going now it’s over. I’ll embrace technology in place of oceanography, we had a good thing going now it’s over. The train has pulled out of the station en route to unknown destinations. You told me some things that I plan to forget yeah you saw a future too bitter to swallow. (chorus) Blind tears run baby blue, those fears of losing you. There’s nothing I can do now I’m all out of chips and on the road to nowhere.

Wrinkle 03:25
Wrinkle Charming, fearless and boozy. Not your usual fatherly type. Your bad behaviour amused me, we couldn’t tell what was wrong from right. You’d easily fly off the handle, the sweet life sure got its claws into you. You sat and chewed on a candle, we blasted music in my tiny room. What did you want me to say? Me and Mum were all that I know. It’s taken me years to write this song and in a flash it will be gone. Another wrinkle for you. An invitation to vice, temptation placed right in front of you. Adolescence devours the stuff that can’t be learnt at school. Forgiveness does make amends, tonight I’ve had quite a few. It’s taken me years to write this songs and in a flash it will be gone. Another wrinkle for you. Me and Mum were all that I knew, it’s taken me years to write this song and in a flash it will be gone. I’ll be a wrinkle for you.
10.
Tears of Benavides It’s time to mention something, even now my brain’s a dumpling. Everything I got I did deserve. All those useless faces of which now I bear no traces, all they did was keep me far from her. Back then I didn’t see those tears Louise, I got it wrong and now you’re living all over me. I can’t feel my knees with all this pain and guilt consuming me. See those tears Louise, I got it wrong and now you’re living all over me ‘till I cease to breathe.
11.
Cheap perfume Memorabilia 90s tunes, the vivid imagery. Nothing paints a picture like a song. You played Ophelia it was June, three months still to go so we went and bought two matching bongs. On Fridays we would sneak in your uncle’s pool. My blue guitar and the smell of your cheap perfume. I heard that you’re doing ok, now you’ve got a job that pays. You had a boyfriend that was cruel and he messed you around, sometime then I found what I’d pursue. Still I tried to play it cool, quit field sports for good and did my best to join a kickass crew. On Fridays we would sneak in your uncle’s pool, we’d get stoned and the smell of your cheap perfume. I heard that you’re doing ok, now you’ve got a job that pays. Every Summer we’d erect a palm tree then tear it back down. Cherry words cherry words, did you ever really hurt?
12.
Ali with an "I" Ali was the one I thought you ought to know, at weekends “Golf n’ Stuff” it was the place to go. Sweet sixteen, the valley queen without a doubt, now I sit here at home hungover all burnt out. I was naive I thought one day we’d settle down, then Daniel came on the scene and made me look a clown. I tried to turn the page, erase her from my mind, not long after I started drinking to unwind. Now I sit in this flat no consolation prize. Sometimes I think I should pack up and leave this town. I was a happy kid but now I wear a frown. A symbol of the glory of youth and better days, she’s out there somewhere tonight I’m still stuck in this haze. Suddenly, we’re right there back in ‘83, we’d leave the suburbs hit the beach, you drove off in your daddy’s car. I had a few but never did get over you. An estranged son, a single mum, my legacy you’ll be redeeming. I’ll be here dreaming...
